"Life is like music; it must be composed by ear, feeling, and instinct, not by rule." -G. K. Chesterton Jessica Lofbomm is proud to release Tonic, her independent debut album. Tonic is a collection of songs she wrote and hymns she grew up singing. Jessica created this record with two talented friends who have very different musical tastes (R&B and black gospel to bluegrass and pop to folk and electronic), and the result is an eclectic, exciting fusion of styles that give fresh breath to familiar songs. Tonic is admittedly a strange name for a record of hymns and sacred songs, but it fits this collection on a couple of levels. In music, tonic means root, home-base, the foundation on which everything is built. It¡¯s where a song starts and returns in the end. Alternately, tonic is a liquid medicine taken for healing. These songs are foundational, and they explore the process of healing. This record can be tonic for you. Jessica grew up in West Chicago, Illinois and moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Belmont University. Just before graduating, Jessica met her husband Adam, so she stayed in Nashville. In August, 2006 Jessica and Adam moved to South Korea to infiltrate the Seoul music scene and teach English for a couple of years.
